For a couple of months, there had been a lingering feeling that I needed a break-a chance to reconnect and realign myself. It wasn’t an escape I was looking for, but rather an opportunity to reflect and slow down.
Vishram Village proved to be the perfect destination, nestled near the backwaters with its serene atm How can I help you? I fell in love with the place and quickly discovered my ravonte spot-the blue dock by the lake. Sitting there, dipping my feet in the water, and watching the gentle waves had a profoundly soothing effect on me.
My friend and I settled into a simple routine. Mornings were spent at Vishram, immersing ourselves in the lush greenery, practicing yoga at the studio, and enjoying a soulful breakfast. In the afternoons, we would stroll through the village for an hour or two, whether to the nearest beach or a local store. These walks always turned out to be longer than expected. We’d find a beautiful spot by the backwaters and get carried away simply sitting there and admiring the vastness of it all.
Vishram soon became a safe haven for us. After a few hours at Varkala Cliff, we eagerly returned to the peacefulness of our stay. Watching birds among the trees, butterflies dancing around flowers and Nala happily playing with coconut branches made each day more beautiful.
The seven days at Vishram passed by quickly, leaving me with a touch of sadness as departure approached. My time here brought me a supreme sense of calm that I hadn’t anticipated. Waking up to views of the lake and trees and petting sweet Nala is something I’ll miss tremendously, but a memory I will hold on
to.
