Holistic living was an innately accepted phenomenon in Ancient India. Our people organically understood the balance of nature, how the Universal forces work and how the elements affect not just their physical health, but their mental well-being. The Sanskrit term Ayurveda quite literally translates to “knowledge of life”.
Our five senses serve as portals between the internal and external realms. Ayurveda groups these five elements into three basic types of energy and principles that are present in all things living and nonliving. The terminology used in Sanskrit for these elements are Vata, Pitta and Kapha. A balanced proportion of these three elements is vital for smooth functioning of the body.
At Vishram Village, we have attempted to recreate the synergy of mind, body and intellect through the ancient healing philosophies of Ayurveda and related therapies.
